About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated History Marker Specialist to join our team at Pearson. As a History Marker Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing student responses in accordance with our established marking criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate student responses against our mark scheme, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to submit high-quality samples for review and feedback.
  • Meet milestones and deadlines for marking, maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Accurately record and report all administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven teaching experience within the last 8 years, specifically in History.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher status.

Competencies:

  • Exceptional subject knowledge and expertise in History.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, working efficiently under pressure.

Working Conditions:

  • The majority of marking will take place remotely using ePEN technology.
  • Some subjects may require traditional marking methods, involving paper scripts sent through the post.

Remuneration: This role offers a competitive annual salary of around £35,000 - £45,000, based on qualifications and experience.
