Vetro Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the children's services team, you will be responsible for providing support and care to young people aged 8-18 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

About the Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring and supporting newer staff members, and encouraging young people to take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age. You will also deal with challenging behaviours when needed and provide support for the children and young people in the home.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People, preferably within another healthcare or social care setting. A Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is essential, and we would welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift.
  • Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members.
  • Encourage young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
  • Ensure the safety of students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individuals' care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is essential.
