AML and Conflicts Expert

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm's adherence to regulatory requirements and maintaining a strong risk management culture.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough risk assessments and due diligence on new clients and matters to identify potential conflicts and anti-money laundering risks.
- Develop and implement effective risk-based strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including partners, fee earners, and administrative staff, to collect and verify documentation required for client onboarding and matter processing.
- Perform client due diligence and screening using trusted industry sources to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Document research and analysis completed on clients and matters in a manner suitable for review by internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide AML advice and support to internal stakeholders, including attorneys and administrative staff.
- Assist in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate ML/CTF suspicions regarding clients and matters and escalate findings clearly and concisely for internal review.
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, including members, attorneys, and administrative staff.
- Experience working in a US-headquartered law firm or a similar industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
- Proven ability to build and develop stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of anti-money laundering requirements and related financial crime risks relevant to a law firm.
- Experience using third-party providers to run searches in connection with AML and conflicts.
- Experience with AML monitoring and screening.
- Extensive knowledge of UK and US conflicts rules.
- Ability to maintain composure when faced with competing demands.
- Excellent attention to detail and maintenance of records.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office.
