We are seeking an experienced Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our New Forest MHST team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering targeted support to children and young people, while also supporting the Whole School Approach work and networks around the young person.
Main Duties- Work with the existing team to offer targeted support to children and young people.
- Support the Whole School Approach work and networks around the young person.
- Deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions and collaborative working with young people and families.
- Have experience of working with children and young people with mental health challenges and good knowledge and understanding of mental health issues in children and young people.
- Have experience of delivering psycho-educational groups in a community setting.
- Have experience of engaging and delivering interventions to CYP with protected characteristics.
- Have experience of working directly with senior leadership teams in service context to support design and delivery of programmes, policy, pathways, support offers etc.

Person Specification- Qualification from CYP Low Intensity Training Course (CWP or EMHP Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course) supplemented by demonstrable experience working as a CWP with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
- Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
- Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
- Low Intensity Supervisor training qualification, or willingness to attend this during the first year in Post.
- Eligible for registration with the BABCP or BPS (expectation to apply for registration when this is open).
- Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training.
- Computer literate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication/relationship skills.
- Proven ability to establish, maintain and conclude therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Good inter-personal and inter-professional skills and ability to work autonomously as a single discipline practitioner in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Ability to maintain high levels of interpersonal skills over the telephone.
- Ability to engage children and young people in an effective therapeutic alliance.
- Giving appropriate constructive feedback to professional colleagues at a range of levels in the system, and of following necessary procedures when required.
