Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Parking Services Team as a Civil Enforcement Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in managing, improving, and maintaining traffic flow across Dorset.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be literate and numerate, and possess experience in a public-facing role. You will also require a thorough knowledge of legislation and parking regulations, which can be obtained post-entry.

This is a full-time position with minimal supervision, offering the opportunity to work across the Dorset area, including historic towns, villages, and beautiful coastline and countryside. You will monitor and enforce parking regulations to keep traffic flowing and ensure access to local businesses and amenities for residents and visitors alike.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and enforcing parking regulations
  • Providing high visibility proactive patrols to encourage compliance throughout the road networks of Dorset
  • Safeguarding revenue income that supports many of Dorset Council's essential services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a full clean driving licence
  • Be fit to carry equipment, walk considerable distances, and work outside in all weathers
  • Have basic IT knowledge and skills, including usage of a smartphone or similar device, Microsoft Office, and Teams
  • Be able to resolve conflict in a professional manner
  • Have the ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment
