Job Summary

As a Fleet and Maintenance Shift Supervisor with Royal Mail, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our commercial vehicle workshops. Reporting to the Fleet Workshop Manager, you will lead operations across a shift, deploying agreed processes and staff resources to meet production planning and control requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the activities of a team of vehicle technicians, ensuring effective stock control processes and accurate completion of work orders.

• Perform a range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on various vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

• Utilize your technical expertise to resolve complex issues and provide technical guidance to team members.

• Collaborate with the Fleet Workshop Manager to develop and implement process improvements, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Experienced leader with a proven track record of managing a team of vehicle technicians.

• Qualified mechanic with advanced level qualifications (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent).

• Varied vehicle experience, including LCV and HGV, with a valid UK driving license.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
