We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Educator to join our team at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, a leading provider of palliative and end-of-life care in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours a week. As a Palliative Care Educator, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating education and training programs on palliative care using a flexible, evidence-based approach across the hospice and wider healthcare system.

You will work closely with the Head of Education and Practice Development to identify training needs and support the delivery of palliative care and clinical skill training and competencies. You will also participate in the delivery of clinical supervision and restorative/resilience-based supervision, as well as pre and post-registration educational programs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality education and training programs on palliative care using a variety of teaching methods, face-to-face and virtually.
  • Participate in the design, delivery, and evaluation of teaching sessions for both hospice staff and external partners.
  • Assist the Head of Education and Practice Development in planning, delivering, and evaluating education and training programs.
  • Act as an educational and information resource for other professionals, providing advice, guidance, and support on palliative care.
  • Role model professional development in nursing and palliative and end-of-life care, promoting an open, supportive learning culture.
  • Support clinical staff to develop their knowledge and skills through a combination of working alongside, group training, and teaching, both face-to-face and online.
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical supervision, restorative/resilience-based supervision, and quality and clinical audit programs.

Requirements:

  • Registered General Nurse qualification.
  • Degree-level qualification in Palliative Care or equivalent level of experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Teaching qualification or relevant experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Relevant post-registration experience.
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating teaching.
  • UK Driving License and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
