About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Support Worker to join our team at Thera Trust, supporting adults with a learning disability in County Durham. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their personal goals and ambitions, and providing support with daily life tasks, personal and emotional support, and enabling individuals to live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with a learning disability in their daily lives, helping them develop new skills and achieve their personal goals.
  • Provide personal and emotional support to individuals, including assistance with personal care and daily living tasks.
  • Help individuals plan and manage their own homes, including support with leisure activities, employment, and individual interests.
  • Support individuals in their community, including helping with travel and accessing local amenities.

Requirements
  • No previous experience or qualifications required, as full training will be provided.
  • Comfortable with lone working and supporting individuals with mental health needs.
  • Compassionate, caring, and confident.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter with a high level of motivation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident, articulate, and professional.
  • Keenness to learn in a fast-paced environment and creatively solve problems.
