MRICS Building Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRICS Building Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team in Edinburgh. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, providing expert advice and ensuring the highest standards of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough building surveys and inspections, producing comprehensive reports that meet client expectations.
  • Oversee construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Handle dilapidation cases, negotiating settlements between landlords and tenants with a focus on fairness and efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice on party wall matters, preparing agreements that protect the interests of all parties involved.
  • Develop design and specification documents for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Administer contracts, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that clients receive the best possible service.
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance programs to ensure properties are kept in optimal condition, reducing the risk of costly repairs and improving overall value.
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors, contributing to their professional development and helping to build a strong and capable team.
Requirements:
  • MRICS qualification is essential, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  • Extensive experience in building surveying, with a proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality results that meet client expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines, with a strong sense of prioritization and time management.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results and exceeding client expectations.
  • Full UK driving license, with a willingness to travel to client sites as required.
