Job Title: Litigation and Claims Lawyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation and Claims Lawyer to join our team at Jet2. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays and Jet2.com aviation claims. You will also handle general litigation within the business and provide supervision and support to juniors within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read, assess, and make decisions on pre-litigation and post-lit claims across various business areas.
  • Review and authorise Defences, Schedules of Loss, Instructions to experts, and other relevant documents.
  • Investigate costs incurred by the business to identify potential contributions from external parties.
  • Work closely with the company's brokers, insurers, and loss adjusters to manage claims effectively.
  • Deliver training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims-handling processes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience dealing with litigation and claims.
  • Working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations and Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Experience in travel law and personal injury is desirable.
