About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Assistant Psychologist to join our well-established service and contribute to the delivery of psychological therapies in a primary care setting.

The successful candidate will work under supervision to provide psychological assessment and treatment to service users with depression and anxiety, and will contribute to the development of the service through audits, data collection and research and innovation projects.

The role involves working closely with the Digital Team Talking Therapies team, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, High Intensity Workers, Counsellors, Administrators and Senior Staff.

The ideal candidate will have excellent data analysis skills and be competent in using Excel and SPSS. They will also have a strong understanding of primary care services and be able to apply existing psychological knowledge to this context.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with members of the Talking Therapies team, through written and verbal communication, and will be able to present statistical data through audits and monthly reports to the Talking Therapies Senior team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment and treatment to service users with depression and anxiety
  • Contribute to the development of the service through audits, data collection and research and innovation projects
  • Work closely with the Digital Team Talking Therapies team
  • Communicate effectively with members of the Talking Therapies team
  • Present statistical data through audits and monthly reports
Requirements
  • Honours degree of higher in Psychology
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of BPS
  • Further post grad training in relevant areas of psychology, mental health practice or research, design and analysis
  • Experience of working with people with MH problems
  • Understanding of and compliance with relevant professional standards and practice
  • Use of computers for data analysis (excel and SPSS)
  • Working in primary care services
  • Has undertaken audit in clinical services
