About the Role
Fives Landis Ltd, a subsidiary of the Fives Group, is a manufacturer of high-precision cylindrical and special grinding machines. We are seeking a Combined Mechanical and Electrical Inspector to join our Inspection team, based in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the fully assembled machine from handover, through 'power up', test and adjust to machine shipment and attending customer's site to install and carry out service duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test grinding machines to ensure they meet quality standards
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on machine tools
- Attend customer sites to install and service grinding machines
- Collaborate with the Head of Product Quality to ensure quality standards are met
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or alternative required discipline
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification in mechanical desirable but full training will be given
- Knowledge of grinding processes highly desirable but full training will be given
- Knowledge of machine tools essential
- Experience in Soft PLC to iec61131 and understanding of Field Bus Profinet, Profibus
- Ability to travel for the service/aftermarket departments when required
- Flexibility in working time, including different shifts and overtime
