**Job Summary**
East Renfrewshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Janitor/Cleaner. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive janitorial service within our premises, ensuring that designated areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Ensure the security of the premises and its contents.
- Operate and maintain plant equipment, including lighting and heating systems.
- Supervise and oversee cleaning staff as required.
- Carry out cleaning, washing, sweeping, and vacuum cleaning duties using approved cleaning agents and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cleaning schedules and protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient cleaning service.
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience in a janitorial or facilities maintenance role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
**Working with Children:**
