Job Summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to join their team. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise and support to NHS Lothian's acute and community hospitals and care homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an infection prevention and control service aimed at reducing healthcare-associated infections and promoting patient safety.
  • Provide line management and support to Infection Control Nurses within the North team.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve infection prevention and control goals.
  • Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • 1st level Registered Nurse with a postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Significant experience in infection control with a portfolio of evidence demonstrating knowledge and expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
