About the RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a strong background in procurement, compliance, and governance to collaborate with various stakeholders, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
We are ideally looking for someone from a regulated background - either in Public Sector or Utilities, who understands the regulations around process in this sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Policymaking and Process Development: Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with current utilities/public sector regs/industry best practices.
- Governance Frameworks: Lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in procurement activities.
- Process Improvement: Monitor/evaluate procurement processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending best practice to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
- Stakeholder Support: Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on regulated procurement procedures, ensuring consistent understanding across the organization.
- Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure procurement practices align with regulatory requirements. Develop and deliver training programs to promote understanding of procurement policies and governance across the organization.
- Audit and Assessment: Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with procurement standards and regulations, and prepare reports for senior management.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and industry developments to ensure the organization's procurement practices remain competitive and aligned with best practices.
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on policy and governance within the public or utilities sector
- Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, best practices, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures in a complex organization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite
- Professional certifications such as CIPS beneficial
What We Offer:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team, driving impactful change in the UK's procurement landscape. A competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum is offered, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
