Job Title: Support Worker - Children's Residential Home Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic individual who is passionate about working with children with learning disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality care that promotes the well-being, growth, and independence of young people.

We offer a competitive salary up to £26,150 per annum, opportunities for progression within the company, and full induction programme and ongoing training to support professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being at all times.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as required.
  • Support children in educational and recreational activities, both within the home and in the community.
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with children, promoting emotional development and self-confidence.
  • Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic care.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, behaviours, and changes in needs.
Requirements:
  • Diploma Level 4 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities or additional needs, is desirable.
  • Caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours professionally and calmly.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Full driving licence, including business insurance.
