About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Histology Improvement Lead. This is a 12-month fixed-term/secondment post that will be responsible for delivering and embedding improvements within the Histology laboratories.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Cellular Pathology Manager and Senior Pathology Managers in horizon scanning and seeking new opportunities to transform Cellular Pathology, including review of external trends applicable to service and implementation of these transformation opportunities.
  • Lead on the development of plans for improvement in Histology, making clear recommendations in complex scenarios, and be responsible for process management by resolving complex scientific and technical issues to ensure continuity of service.
  • Manage the attendance and performance of all qualified and support staff members, ensuring all staff fulfill and maintain their contractual requirements for mandatory training.
  • Design and work with the Pathology IT team on continuous developments to ensure the most efficient use of the laboratory information system in the support of effective patient care within all Pathology specialties.
  • Lead by example to develop and maintain full engagement with all staff, demonstrating motivational, presentation, and training skills at all times.
