Job Title: R&D Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at Saint-Gobain Abrasives. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new technologies and processes to improve our manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide technical options and innovation projects to support our industrial customers.
  • Participate in the definition and rationalization of industrial ranges.
  • Analyze, deploy, and finalize the process of specific tools and solutions required by customers.
  • Provide technical sales assistance for complex projects, discussing customer applications and expectations to develop optimal solutions.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge in Chemistry and ideally Electrochemistry (Nickel deposit) / Electroplating.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of process and/or performance improvement within a manufacturing environment, ideally precision engineering field.
  • Practitioner in World Class Manufacturing techniques (e.g., 6 sigma).
  • Familiar with root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience of managing others in project teams, including external contractors/suppliers.
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of basic cost structures and margins.
  • Effective influencing and communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain technical concepts to different levels.
