Senior Technical Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Basingstoke. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring safety is prioritized in all projects, driving safety requirements forward, and ensuring facility designs and project management adhere to stringent safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical safety design and manage projects from feasibility to detailed design phases.
  • Perform safety studies and analysis, including loss prevention, fire protection, risk analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  • Develop HSE philosophies and conduct RAM studies.
  • Supervise and guide subordinate team members, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project timelines.
  • Provide technical support and oversee document reviews and approvals.
  • Participate in safety reviews, such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of safety requirements across projects.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in technical safety within the energy sector.
  • Expertise in risk identification, assessment, and safety design.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, accredited by a chartered engineering institute.
  • Chartered Engineer or Certified Process Safety Practitioner status preferred.
  • Experience in onshore/offshore oil and gas, LNG, CCS, and renewables projects is desirable.
