Quarry and Asphalt/ Concrete Plant Operations Manager

Job OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Quarry and Asphalt/ Concrete Plant Supervisor at our Shierglas site. As a proactive, hands-on individual, you'll have the autonomy to run your own site, playing a key part in our concrete and asphalt production within the area. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the site runs smoothly to meet the needs of our local customers.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of concrete and asphalt plants
- Report and close safety observations in a timely manner
- Monitor stock levels and make informed decisions to maintain critical stocks
- Report defects and order critical spares, fuels, and raw materials
- Conduct finished good stock counts
- Manage staff to ensure production is achieved, basic maintenance is completed, and housekeeping in the quarry is maintained
- Collaborate with other departments, including Technical and Maintenance
- Work closely with the sales office to ensure orders are dispatched on time and report any issues or stock problems
- Proactively identify and address potential issues before they occur
- Manage and supervise all visitors and contractors on site
- Deputise for the Quarry Manager in their absence
- Experience in a similar role or environment, such as asphalt, aggregates, concrete, cement, quarrying, or mining
- Hardworking, reliable, and professional individual with good communication skills
- NVQ Wheeled Loading Shovel licence is desirable, but full training will be provided to the successful applicant
- Experience working in an environment where Health and Safety is paramount
