Job SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on Quarry and Asphalt/ Concrete Plant Supervisor to join our team at our Shierglas site. As a Supervisor, you will have the autonomy to run your own site and play a key part in our concrete and asphalt production within the area, ensuring the site runs smoothly to meet the needs of our local customers.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the daily running of concrete and asphalt plants, ensuring efficient production and quality control.
- Reporting and closure of safety observations, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitoring stock levels and making informed decisions to maintain critical stocks, minimizing waste and optimizing production.
- Reporting defects and ordering critical spares, fuels, and raw materials in a timely manner.
- Conducting finished good stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Managing staff to ensure production is achieved, basic maintenance is completed, and housekeeping in the quarry is maintained.
- Collaborating with other departments, including Technical and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Working closely with the sales office to ensure orders are dispatched on time and timely reporting in the event of issues or stock problems.
- Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they occur, ensuring the site runs efficiently and effectively.
- Managing and supervising all visitors and contractors working on site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Deputizing for the Quarry Manager in their absence, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Experience in a similar role or environment, such as asphalt, aggregates, concrete, cement, quarrying, or mining.
- A hardworking, reliable, and professional individual with good communication skills.
- NVQ Wheeled Loading Shovel license is desirable, but full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
- Experience working in an environment where Health and Safety is paramount.
