Quarry and Asphalt/ Concrete Plant Operations Manager

We are currently seeking a Quarry and Asphalt/ Concrete Plant Supervisor at our Shierglas site. As a Supervisor, you'll have the autonomy to run your own site, playing a key part in our concrete and asphalt production within the area. You'll be responsible for ensuring the site runs smoothly to meet the needs of our local customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily running of concrete and asphalt plants
- Report and close safety observations
- Monitor stock levels and make decisions to maintain critical stocks
- Report defects and order critical spares, fuels, and raw materials
- Conduct finished good stock counts
- Manage staff to ensure production is achieved, basic maintenance is completed, and housekeeping in the quarry is maintained
- Work closely with other departments – Technical, Maintenance, etc.
- Collaborate with the sales office to ensure orders are dispatched on time and timely reporting in the event of issues or stock problems
- Take a proactive approach to quarry management – looking for issues before they occur
- Manage and monitor all visitors and contractors working on site
- Deputise for the Quarry Manager in their absence
- Experience in a similar role or environment such as asphalt, aggregates, concrete, cement, quarrying, or mining
- Be a hardworking, reliable, and professional individual with good communication skills
- NVQ Wheeled Loading Shovel licence is desirable, but full training will be given to the successful applicant
- Experience of working in an environment where Health and Safety is paramount
