Job Opportunity

Austin Fraser is seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills Trainer to join their team in Coventry. In this role, you will empower adult learners (aged 19+) to achieve their educational and career goals by delivering engaging and impactful Functional Skills qualifications, ranging from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.

This position is based in the Coventry office, where staff parking is available on site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments to develop tailored learning plans for each learner.
  • Deliver high-quality and engaging Functional Skills training, meeting the needs of diverse ability groups (Entry Level 1 to Level 2).
  • Monitor and assess learner progress, providing guidance and adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success.
  • Offer career advice and progression guidance to help learners achieve their long-term goals.
  • Develop and customise engaging teaching materials to keep learners motivated.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and funding documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to contribute to the continuous improvement of training delivery.

Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE).
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills and/or vocational qualifications within an adult learning environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate learners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of the local labour market and educational needs of adult learners.

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £28,000 per year.
