We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Consultant to join our team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our Department, you will be responsible for reporting general radiographic examinations and developing advanced clinical skills in Urology.

The ideal candidate will have excellent team-working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other clinical staff. You will be involved in the organisation and administration of the Radiology Department, teaching of other clinical staff, and participation in regular clinico-radiological meetings.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting and Clinical Skills: You will be responsible for reporting general radiographic examinations for our inpatient and outpatient population, including community hospital locations and our Community Diagnostic Centre.
  2. Urology Expertise: You will develop and maintain advanced clinical skills relating to Urology patients, including assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
  3. Department Administration: You will be involved in the organisation and administration of the Radiology Department, including participation in regular clinico-radiological meetings.
  4. Teaching and Training: You will be responsible for teaching other clinical staff, including participation in regular clinico-radiological meetings and training of junior Radiology staff.

  • Ability to work flexibly according to changes in work patterns and requirements
  • Participation in the general on-call rota (1:19 cross county on call)
