About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex needs in an acute inpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, manage, and treat patients with complex conditions, including those with Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, Stroke, Falls, and Osteoporosis.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote independence and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to prevent falls and other adverse events.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 4 years' postgraduate experience, including 2 years working as a Band 6 in an acute inpatient environment.
- Experience of working with patients with complex needs and conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Clinical leadership experience.
- Experience of working in a leadership or management role.
- Excellent IT skills and ability to use electronic patient records.
- Ability to drive and hold a clean driver's license.

You will be working in a fast-paced acute inpatient environment, providing high-quality care to patients with complex needs. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
