About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CYP Specialist Caseworker to join our team at St Giles Trust. As an Embedded CYP Specialist Caseworker, you will work closely with local authorities to provide one-to-one mentoring and support to children and young people at risk of serious youth violence, gang activity, and exploitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one mentoring sessions to a caseload of clients aged 11-25 years
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external agencies to arrange bookings and promote the SOS+ service
  • Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding leads to upskill partners, attend partnership meetings, and contribute expertise around lived experience and local knowledge
  • Assist with providing monitoring information and evaluating the project, maintaining accurate records of mentoring work, session work, and data collection
  • Represent the organisation and work collaboratively with external organisations, partners, and corporate supporters
Requirements
  • Personal experience of the criminal justice system or lived experience of the issues facing the client group
  • Experience of assessing needs and providing support and advice to children at risk of harm, advocating their interests to professionals
  • Experience working as part of a multi-agency team
  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field or willingness to work towards one
  • Knowledge of the issues facing this client group, including gangs, knife crime, social exclusion, and exploitation
  • First-class interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written
