About the Role

We are seeking a talented Highway Engineer to join our teams in Glasgow and Edinburgh. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of highway projects, from strategic roads to local authority road network improvements.

As a Highway Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking elements of design from road geometry, drainage, and pavement to road restraint systems and traffic signs and road markings. You will also produce design outputs such as drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and calculations to achieve the optimum solution for the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake highway geometry design in accordance with the DMRB and Manual for Streets using Bentley OpenRoads or Civils 3D software.
  • Produce design outputs such as drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and calculations to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
  • Work in close collaboration with your team and other design disciplines to ensure deliverables are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure that all work is carried out to the Company's IMS and current H&S legislation requirements.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree and be working towards achieving a relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience of the planning and delivery of elements of highway projects or work packages on larger multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong experience of AutoCAD and a sound understanding of its integration with the BIM environment.
  • The confidence to present design solutions and progress both internally and externally to clients and stakeholders.
