About the Role

We are seeking a talented Highways Design Engineer to join our team in Glasgow and Edinburgh. As a key member of our highway engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake elements of design from road geometry, drainage, and pavement to road restraint systems and traffic signs and road markings.
  • Produce design outputs such as drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and calculations to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
  • Work in close collaboration with your team and other design disciplines, demonstrating an appreciation of their role.
  • Ensure deliverables are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors, supervising works on site when required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the Company's IMS and current H&S legislation requirements.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree and working towards achieving a relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience of the planning and delivery of elements of highway projects or work packages on larger multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience of undertaking highway geometry design in accordance with the DMRB and desirably Manual for Streets, using Bentley OpenRoads or Civils 3D software.
  • Strong experience of AutoCAD and a sound understanding of its integration with the BIM environment.
  • The confidence to present design solutions and progress both internally and externally to clients and stakeholders.
