About the Role

This position will report to the Assistant Director of Finance & Strategy and will be responsible for supporting the front-line services for the Place & Economy Directorate, which includes Highways & Waste, Assets & Environment, Growth & Regeneration, and Regulatory Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective management and control across the Place & Economy Directorate for the annual revenue budget, the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, the capital programme, and the overall control environment with a focus on strong financial governance.
  • Support the front-line services in achieving their objectives and delivering high-quality services to residents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the council's corporate priorities.

The successful candidate will be able to put into practice a wide range of finance skills and business acumen as we shape our finances to assist in the delivery of our corporate priorities and help us develop excellent services for our residents.

This is a role for a passionate qualified accountancy professional who will bring a wealth of enthusiasm, supplemented with experience of working in a complex, multi-faceted financial leadership role.
