Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Hemel Hempstead. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with severe and complex needs, including personal care assistance
  • Managing challenging behavior and collaborating with the teacher to create and deliver activities
  • Recording students' progress and feeding back to the teacher
  • Working one-to-one with some students

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students
  • Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
  • Able to manage challenging behavior
  • Able to commit to working fixed days, full or part-time
  • Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • Able to assist pupils/students with personal care
