Planning Officer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Planning Officer to join our Development Management team. As a Planning Officer, you will be responsible for inspecting plans, carrying out site visits, and assessing development proposals and possible breaches of planning control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect plans and carry out site visits to assess development proposals and possible breaches of planning control
- Provide advice to applicants and negotiate on planning applications and enforcement matters
- Recommend the most appropriate course of action and advise on both planning matters and the scope of planning control
- Keep comprehensive notes of site visits and meetings, and draft reports for submission to planning committees or others
- Prepare statements and other material for appeals and prosecutions
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures. You will also need to be able to advise on all aspects of planning applications and negotiate development proposals.
