Maintenance and Engineering Specialist

Job Purpose:

As a key member of the EMCOR UK team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by providing top-notch electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Rectify defects and ensure all performance standards are met in accordance with the contract.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Supervise specialist contractors and ensure all certification and documentation is filed accordingly.
  • Monitor and log lighting levels, temperatures, and other critical parameters to ensure availability criteria is met.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's safety rules and regulations.
  • Support the Account Manager in all aspects of compliance and provide expert advice as needed.
  • Respond to requests made via the 'Help Desk' and provide timely resolutions.
  • Maintain the COSHH register and ensure proper storage of materials.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain records to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Direct non-compliance issues to the Account Manager and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and working practices throughout the facility.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.

Requirements:

  • City and Guilds Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience in M&E maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to plan and execute preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Ability to liaise and supervise contractors.
  • Participation in a 'Call Out' rota arrangement.
  • Assistance with plant maintenance records and Work Control Permits.
  • Assistance with the implementation and application of safe working systems.
