We are looking for an experienced Allocated Social Worker to join our mental health team at West Sussex County Council.

Job Overview:

This role requires delivering a statutory social work service to individuals accessing specialist mental health services. You will be working with a geographically based specialist mental health social work team, providing services to people aged 65 years and over, with occasional contact with people under 65 years old diagnosed with dementia.

You will work closely with other staff, teams, and agencies, both internal to the Council and external, including Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves managing unpredictable risk, complex social work cases, and leading safeguarding enquiries.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering high-quality services for individuals in need of specialist mental health support.
  • Developing and implementing support plans to improve wellbeing and deliver outcomes, utilizing community assets and ensuring eligible needs are met.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Requirements:
  • A good understanding of local health, voluntary, and private sector services.
  • Ability to travel independently throughout the county, including areas not easily accessible by public transport.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with members of the public.
Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary for this role is £40,400 - £48,500, depending on experience. West Sussex County Council offers a competitive benefits package, including a pension scheme and flexible working arrangements.
