Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Location: Remote based with Travel to sites around Kent, Essex and Dover

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 plus car / car allowance and package

A leading tier 1 contractor in the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to oversee projects in the London and southern region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a culture of best practice environmental performance and improving the sustainability of projects, while managing and reducing the direct impact of our activities.

The company's ambition is to help shape a sustainable world through focusing on three main areas: Acting for the climate, Optimising resources through circular economy and preserving natural environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing monitoring equipment, collecting, processing and interpreting data (e.g. water, dust, noise, waste)
  • Managing onsite Environmental Site inspections, highlighting any bad and good practice to the relevant teams and Senior Management
  • Ensuring that the Project Environmental Management System is implemented and operated on site through a programme of checking and auditing
  • Preparing monthly environmental reports for the project, including completion of company/client and divisional reporting systems data systems
  • Regularly reporting progress (including achievements) against environmental compliance, and environmental targets to the whole team
  • Developing robust and comprehensive mitigation measures to deal with environmental risks, working collaboratively with the production team
  • Producing, reviewing and updating the Project Environmental Management Plan
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and client representatives to ensure collaborative working relationships
