Overview

This position serves as the Medication Assistance Program Coordinator, responsible for assisting medically indigent individuals in obtaining necessary medications and promoting community awareness.

Job Description

This role involves:

  • Interviewing clients and providing counseling according to program policies and health guidelines.
  • Applying critical thinking and cultural awareness to all communication modes.
  • Completing required documentation in client charts.
  • Making referrals for medical care and community resources.
  • Providing administrative assistance to support health department activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Licensure as a Practical Nurse required by state code.
  • Knowledge of nursing techniques, public health practices, quality assurance concepts, and socio-economic conditions.
  • Skills in performing technical procedures, oral and written communication, and interacting with clients and the public.
