About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with students with special educational needs in a secondary school in Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with learning difficulties, enhancing their academic and social progression.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans and collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support students effectively.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to promote their well-being and engagement.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work with students with learning difficulties in a one-to-one setting and in small groups.
  • Ability to arrange educational activities based on student proficiency with assistance from a teacher.
  • Development of social skills and assistance with individual needs.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Providing counselling and academic support.
  • Experience working with young individuals with special needs is preferred.
