About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Flood Modeller/Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Sciences team. As a key member of our team, you will work with us to deliver technical work and assist more junior staff in their projects. Your location is not critical, as we have numerous offices around the UK and work flexibly and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the team and independently to deal with new enquiries from clients, develop fee proposals, set up and manage projects, and deliver technical work.
  • Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders, including undertaking site visits.
  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Modelling (fluvial, pluvial, and tidal), outline Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) design and/or detailed drainage design, hydraulic modelling (1D, 2D, and 1D-2D) of rivers, and other related projects.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in Hydraulic Modelling software (e.g. Flood Modeller Pro, ISIS - Tuflow, Estry - Tuflow, WinDes, and Microdrainage).
  • Extensive knowledge of hydrological assessments and flow estimation or other flow calculation methods.
  • Experience with SuDS and surface/foul water drainage design, alongside experience with hydrological EIA.
  • A degree in Environmental Science and a relevant master's degree through a separate or integrated course.
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution or working towards obtaining chartership.
