Project Engineer - Fabrication A&P Tyne

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team at A&P Group Ltd. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of pre-planned fabrication projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our fabrication work, while working with and learning from a team of experts in the field of ship repair, conversion, and marine specialists.

Our 24,000 square metre Fabrication Hall is a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with a high bay construction hall, panel line, profile cutting, and sub-assembly areas. As a Project Engineer, you will be based in this facility, working closely with the fabrication team to coordinate materials, tools, and equipment to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for fabrication projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions to project challenges through reviewing and refining drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor, maintain, and report progress and financial achievement of the project.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Finalize and document all project paperwork, including arranging project wash-up meetings.

Requirements:

  • Competency with MS Office and planning tools (MS Project).
  • Experience in an engineering/structural engineering/shipbuilding environment.
  • Qualification at HNC/degree in marine or a related discipline.
  • Commercial experience and knowledge of project management principles.

Due to the nature of our work, some roles may be subject to security control restrictions. You will be required to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.
