About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow, providing a recovery-focused service for individuals with mental health needs and dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in assessing referrals, undertaking mental state examinations, and developing treatment plans.
  • Undertake investigations, diagnosis, and treatment, participating in ward rounds and clinical audits.
  • Implement risk assessment, risk management, and clinical governance, supervising reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings.
  • Participate in the 1:7 on-call rota and contribute to the development of the service.

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  • A first-rate communicator with excellent assessment and treatment skills.
  • Committed to continued professional development and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych).

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
