We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Finance Business Partner to join our team at Cambridgeshire County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading finance business partnering support to key council services, and will work closely with executive directors to drive financial management excellence across the organisation.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will have a significant impact on the delivery of our ambitious capital programme and strategic objectives. As a Strategic Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing finance support to services through the whole financial cycle, from medium-term financial planning and budget setting, to in-year financial monitoring, to accounts production.
  • Providing financial governance and ensuring that financial systems and processes are robust and effective.
  • Working on business cases and major change activity to drive financial improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in finance, with experience of working in a complex financial environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with directors, services, and other stakeholders.
