About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Large Loss Lawyer to join our team at Keoghs, a leading Personal Injury law firm with a strong reputation in our field. As a key member of our Complex Injury team, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of large loss RTA claims, working closely with insurer clients, and providing expert advice on complex medical issues and causation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a caseload of large loss RTA claims, with a focus on forensic analysis and critical thinking.
  • Communicating effectively with insurer clients, providing progress updates, and resolving queries.
  • Preparing chronologies, identifying anomalies, and analyzing voluminous quantum evidence.
  • Using your expertise in complex injury symptomology to instruct medical experts and identify relevant issues within medical records.
  • Critical analysis of liability evidence, identifying gaps, and drafting concise technical advice on claim handling.
  • Proactively identifying next steps, discussing with the Lead Lawyer, and taking action as agreed.
  • Liaising with parties involved in claims, including insured, insurer, witnesses, and instructing counsel.
  • Drafting pleadings, applications, and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Dealing with costs budgets in conjunction with costs lawyers and maintaining case management systems.
  • Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards, delegating tasks to Assistant/Complex Injury Paralegals, and their development.
About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor, CILEX, or proven relevant legal experience, with a strong track record of handling cases up to £100K in their own name. Essential experience includes indemnity and RTA liability, complex medical issues, and causation. Defendant experience is ideal, but we will consider a claimant background. A desire to develop more junior members of the team is also essential.
