Job Overview:

As a key member of TE Connectivity's Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Wire and Cable and Materials Manufacturing Facilities. Your expertise in maintenance and people management will be essential in maintaining high standards of service and adhering to TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily breakdowns and services, prioritizing tasks to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Lead the maintenance team in resolving unscheduled problems with equipment, coordinating activities to restore operations quickly.
  • Coach and develop technicians to meet objectives, maintaining a high standard of service and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support apprentices in their development, providing guidance and mentorship to help them gain the experience needed for their courses.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the maintenance function, working closely with other departments to optimize processes.
  • Be prepared to move between facilities as priorities dictate, ensuring seamless support for production teams.
  • Participate in Tier 3 meetings to discuss priorities with production teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Address health and safety concerns raised by production teams, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Introduce a continuous improvement culture in line with TE Connectivity's TEOA program, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Monitor repeat failures, determining preventative actions to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance efficiency.
  • Interface with maintenance, facilities, process, and projects departments to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Monitor, review, and respond to key performance indicators, ensuring the maintenance team meets its objectives.
  • Deputize for the maintenance manager as needed, showcasing leadership skills and adaptability.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in maintenance in an industrial environment.
  • Proven people management experience, covering at least 5 years.
  • Experience working within a range of different production environments.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLC controls and motor drives would be beneficial.
  • Flexibility to switch between different machines and areas requiring different disciplines.
  • Proficiency in office applications, with experience of a CMMS package.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to produce and present project justifications.
  • Demonstrate a 'lead by example' approach within the maintenance team.
