Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our pastoral care team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour, ensuring their well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the seclusion room, including break and lunch times, to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Provide individualised support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive pastoral support for all students.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to identify and address student needs, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and academic achievement.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning, with a strong understanding of behaviour management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
  • Highly patient, reliable, and sensitive to the needs of students, with a commitment to supporting learning and promoting positive outcomes.
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
