CDP Personal Assistants to Adults

About Us
We are a married couple living in Cardiff, with a diagnosis of dementia. My husband's illness is in a more advanced stage, while my dementia is less advanced, but I have ongoing memory issues and anxiety.
We have carers coming in four times a day, and we are looking for a small team of Personal Assistants to provide companionship to both myself and my husband.
Purpose of the Job
To support us to live at home as independently as possible, to access rewarding and stimulating activities at home and out in the community.
To ensure we have nutritious meals, and to provide companionship and support with daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and support to both myself and my husband
- Assist with preparing nutritious meals and engaging us in preparation
- Accompany us on walks and activities of choice
- Empty catheter bags
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience of dementia care, be empathetic, have good conversational skills, and be friendly, patient, and trustworthy.
A car owner would be great, but not essential.
Working Hours
28 hours per week, with flexibility to discuss additional hours at interview.
Rate of Pay
£14.05 per hour.
