About the Role

As a Strategy Development Engineer, you'll identify and drive new and complex opportunities for National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) growth, utilising your technical expertise to convert them into tangible solutions and services. You'll develop engineering strategies, lead a small team, and mentor to achieve the best results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out power system analysis, specialist solution design, and lead engineering activities to convert existing, new, and complex opportunities into prototype innovative and 'first time' engineering solutions.
  • Developing models that provide engineering solution insights comparing proposed or modelled scenarios.
  • Managing a solution-focused team to deliver results, with strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
What You'll Need

We're looking for an experienced engineer with a Power Systems background and an ability to develop engineering solutions to real-life scenarios and Net Zero challenges. You'll have a STEM degree, experience in the electrical or utilities industry, and experience conducting power system studies and building models that give insights into long-term strategies.

What You'll Get
