We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team at Orion.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong mechanical bias, extensive hands-on experience, and the ability to work independently on night shifts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, diagnosing and resolving mechanical breakdowns, and handling basic electrical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform PPM and reactive maintenance tasks
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns, focusing on pneumatics, presses, air systems, and hydraulics
- Handle basic electrical tasks (sensors, relays) with internal training provided for our machines
- Participate in new projects, including the installation of new machinery
- Utilize our CMMS system via a provided tablet to maintain and update maintenance records
Requirements:
- Timeserved relevant experience
- Proven track record in handling mechanical issues (70% of breakdowns are mechanical)
- Experience in injection moulding or thermoforming is highly advantageous
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 fast-paced, heavy engineering environment
- Ability to adapt to a physically demanding role, involving prolonged periods on your feet and working with large equipment
- Strong personality with the confidence to integrate into a diverse team
Salary: Up to £43,200 per annum. Shift: 4 on/4 off - Days and Nights rotating shifts.
