We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological assessments and interventions to children, young people, and their families.
Main Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children, young people, and their families, including the provision of specialist reports, formulation, consultation, supervision, and training to non-psychologist colleagues and professional carers.
- Join the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the effective running of the service, including contributing to service development, policy changes, and effective working relationships within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service, including the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients, and the provision of specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, including psychologists, family therapists, cognitive therapists, mental health nurses, and other professionals, to ensure the provision of high-quality care to clients.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including those related to clinical governance, risk management, and service evaluation.
- Participate in research and service evaluation activities, including the development and implementation of research projects, and the provision of research advice to other staff.
- Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
- Further specialist training and supervision in specific psychological approaches and with specific client groups, supported by a programme of professional development.
- Registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Experience of working with children, young people, and their families, including experience of delivering and supervising child and family presentations across a range of sectors.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan.
- Experience of teaching, training, and professional and clinical supervision.
- Essential qualifications and experience as outlined above.
- Desirable qualifications and experience, including post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice, and experience of working within a multicultural framework.
