Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for managing independent site inspections and surveillances, liaising with the Client on inspection issues, ensuring documentation is produced on time, and reviewing documentation. The role will also involve supporting the Quality Manager and communicating with the delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and holiday cover to the Quality Manager.
  • Be proactive in preventing substandard works being produced by coaching and providing training.
  • Ensure that quality management is given the highest priority in delivery in the delivery of their works to achieve right first time.
  • Communicate with delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
  • Manage and communicate to the Quality Managers any non-conformances.
  • Carry out formal surveillances to ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans, Safe System of Work for controlling the works, and that all necessary documentation is produced in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Managed quality on a relevant project.
  • Experience within a quality-related role on a major infrastructure project.
  • Experience of working on Civil engineering projects.
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel).
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • On-site training in Quality.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.

The role will work on the HS2 project, which is the UK's new high-speed rail network. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract.
