Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the PE department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and balanced PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure all students achieve their potential.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and school teams.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Manage departmental resources, including equipment and facilities, to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching PE at the secondary school level, with a track record of outstanding results.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and current educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
