We are seeking a highly experienced and inspirational Director of Physical Education and Sports Development to lead our dynamic PE department.

Job Description

Company Overview:

Protocol Education is a leading education recruitment agency, providing temporary and permanent staffing solutions to schools across the UK.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead, manage, and develop the PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • To plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • To develop and implement an innovative and balanced PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
  • To monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure all students achieve their potential.
  • To organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and school teams.
  • To foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • To manage departmental resources, including equipment and facilities, to support effective teaching and learning.
  • To collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching PE at the secondary school level, with a track record of outstanding results.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and current educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
